Fiji Airways gives the fijian flying circus its wings in Australia

The airline partners with VOU to take Fiji's culture, talent and happiness across Australian stages

9 June 2026 – Nadi, Fiji: Fiji Airways is proud to support the Fijian Flying Circus on its first Australian tour, backing one of Fiji's most exciting cultural exports in a landmark celebration of contemporary Fijian creativity, storytelling and connection.

Announced today in Brisbane alongside the Brisbane Festival’s 2026 programme launch, the partnership will see professional Fijian performers travel across Australia, in a contemporary Pacific production that blends storytelling rooted in Fijian myths, legends and folklore with the spectacle of contemporary circus.

The 2026 Australia Tour will reach audiences across Darwin, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, showcasing Fijian talent on some of Australia's biggest stages including the Brisbane Festival, running from 04 September to 04 October.

For Fiji Airways, the partnership represents more than just flight support. It is about carrying the spirit of Fiji beyond it’s shores and creating a global stage for Fijian talent; a natural extension of the airline's mission to be the World's Happiest Airline. As part of the partnership, Fiji Airways will also feature VOU's circus video on its in-flight entertainment, bringing the energy and artistry of the Fijian Flying Circus to passengers travelling to and from Fiji, and extending the reach of both VOU and the VOU Foundation.

Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Paul Scurrah, said the partnership reflects the airline’s broader role as a connector of people, cultures and experiences across the Pacific.

“At Fiji Airways, we don't just fly people to Fiji, we fly Fiji to the world. This partnership with VOU brings Fiji's culture, creativity and talent directly to Australian audiences, and that is something we are enormously proud of.”

“The Fijian Flying Circus is a bold and uniquely Fijian expression of a culture we are privileged to represent. It captures the spirit and energy people experience when they visit Fiji, and we are proud to stand alongside these artists as they take to the stage across Australia.”

Sachiko Soro, Founder and Director of VOU, said:

“This partnership gives our talented Fijian artists wings to fly to audiences all over Australia to share magic moments of human connection. Through this partnership Fiji Airways is also enabling the education and training of Fijian youth through our Conservatorium of Dance scholarship programs. It is my dream that people leaving the Fijian Flying Circus will feel inspired and want to come visit us in our island home.”

Through its support of VOU and the VOU Foundation, Fiji Airways also helps fund tertiary scholarships for young Fijians pursuing careers in the performing arts, opening long-term pathways for emerging talent in Fiji's creative industries.

Australians inspired to experience Fiji for themselves can fly directly with Fiji Airways from seven Australian cities; Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Cairns and Canberra, and Gold Coast travellers won't have to wait long either, with Fiji Airways launching its brand-new Gold Coast–Nadi route in just two days, on 11 June 2026. For Queensland's holiday capital, the timing couldn't be better; direct flights to Fiji are now closer than ever. Fiji Airways flights to Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, Asia, North America and beyond can be booked at fijiairways.com.
