AIR Niugini officially resumed our flight to Tokyo, Japan today.( Saturday 18th July 2026).
To celebrate this historic milestone, we hosted a special ribbon-cutting ceremony before departure at the Jacksons International Terminal Check-in Zone.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Vice Minister for State-Owned Enterprises, Hon. Raphael Tonpi, the Ambassador of Japan to PNG, H.E. Hisanobu Mochizuki and the Air Niugini Board Chairman, Mr Karl Yalo.
Other dignitaries including our Board Directors, Governor for NCD, Hon. Powes Parkop and our CEO, Mr Alan Milne, also joined in the festivities. This new route marks an exciting chapter for our airline and for PNG-Japan connections.
