For over three decades, Air Niugini has supported the Heart program , helping transport volunteer doctors and medical teams and tonnes of equipment from Australia for the annual operations and uplift patients, mostly children and their guardians from provinces to Port Moresby for the operation. The airline is now transporting medical teams to provinces across the country to provide heart screening to determine only those who require operations travel to Port Moresby.
