Fiji Airways to add more than 125,000 seats across its 2027 network

FIJI Airways is set to significantly expand its international network in 2027, adding more than 125,000 seats across key markets in response to strong demand for travel to Fiji.

The expansion, which will be delivered within the airline’s existing fleet, will provide travellers with greater choice and flexibility while strengthening Nadi’s role as a regional aviation hub.  The additional capacity reflects Fiji Airways continued focus on responding to market demand while strengthening connectivity between Fiji and its key international markets.

The 2027 schedule includes the launch of new services to Western Sydney, alongside increased frequencies to Hong Kong, Christchurch, Singapore, and Tokyo.

Key network enhancements for 2027

The planned additions include:

  • Western Sydney: Launch of three weekly flights from 19 March 2027, adding approximately 42,000 seats.
  • Hong Kong: Increase from three to five weekly services from February 2027, adding approximately 40,500 seats.
  • Christchurch: Increase from three to five weekly services from March 2027, adding approximately 20,000 seats.
  • Singapore: Increase from two to three weekly services from March 2027, adding approximately 20,000 seats.
  • Tokyo: Increase from two to three weekly services in April and again from August 2027, adding approximately 13,600 seats.

These developments build on network growth already announced, including:

  • Apia: Increase from 11 to 14 weekly services, adding approximately 24,000 seats.
  • Gold Coast: Launch of three weekly services in June 2026, adding approximately 22,800 seats.
  • Vancouver: Introduction of the Airbus A350 on three weekly services, adding approximately 17,500 seats.
  • Noumea: Relaunched on 22 September and will add up to 8,000 seats.

Together, these network developments will provide more opportunities for passengers to travel to Fiji while strengthening connections through Nadi to destinations across the wider Fiji Airways and oneworld network.

Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Paul Scurrah, said the expansion reflects the airline’s commitment to responding to passenger demand while strengthening Fiji’s international connectivity.

“We’re excited to expand our network in 2027 and give more people around the world greater access to Fiji. We’re seeing strong demand from travellers choosing Fiji, and these additional services will provide greater choice and flexibility while making it easier for passengers to connect through Nadi to destinations across our wider network.

“This growth strengthens the connections between Fiji and our key international markets, supporting tourism, businesses, communities, and the many Fijians whose livelihoods depend on a strong visitor economy. We look forward to welcoming even more of our friends from Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada and Samoa onboard Fiji Airways and sharing the warmth and hospitality Fiji is known for.”
