Solomon Airlines continues fuel response with International Fare and Network Adjustments

SOLOMON Airlines has confirmed a series of updates to its international network in response to sustained fuel cost pressures and ongoing changes in global travel demand.

From 1 May 2026, the airline will implement and increase to international fares across its network. The level of change will vary between 1% and 17% depending on origin port, booking class and route.

The airline will also remove the Honiara airport levy currently applying on international routes, to lessen the impact of changes where possible, and also ensure the airline can respond more clearly as the market situation develops.

The airline recommends customers planning travel to book soon to make the most of current initiatives, including their Autumn International Sale, to maximise the available opportunity.

“Day of departure” excess baggage rates on international services will also be increased. Details of charges effective 1 May 2026 are on the Baggage Information page on the airline’s website: https://www.flysolomons.com/experience/baggage-information

Passengers are strongly encouraged to prepay baggage where possible, to make the most of available savings. Prepaid baggage can be purchased via Manage My Booking on the airline’s website: https://www.flysolomons.com/explore/manage-my-booking.

Solomon Airlines also advises the commencement of its own operated service between Honiara and Port Moresby on Tuesdays will be delayed to 30 June 2026 as a result of the market situation.

Affected passengers for travel prior to 30 June, will be rebooked to the nearest service for the same route at no additional cost, in accordance with the airline’s Conditions of Carriage.

Solomon Airlines Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Findlay, said the changes reflect the airline’s need to respond responsibly to external market pressures while maintaining transparency and network stability.

“We recognise the impact that fare and schedule adjustments have on our customers. These decisions are necessary in the current operating environment, and we remain focused on maintaining transparency, protecting connectivity, and supporting our passengers and trade partners across the region,” the CEO said.

Solomon Airlines remains committed to maintaining reliable regional connectivity and supporting customers as it continues to adapt to global aviation conditions. The airline thanks the travelling public for their understanding and continued support.
